Pioneer stereos were big in the 1980s, and are making a comeback with people buying the 19″ wide component stereos on the used market. These thrift store prices are outrageous. I just sold an Onkyo for 60, and I bought it for less than 200 maybe 10 years ago.
This ad is from before Pioneer was a household name, when the “stereophonic age” was just starting, and people were upgrading to stereo.
