I remember Ole’s as the first hardware store I had been to. I remember the rows of artificial Christmas trees, the fact that there was a gate in the back, which probably went to the lumber area. It was the store in Rosemead that everyone knew.
It’s pronounced “o-lee’s”, not “olay”.
